Middle of CD hunting the whole commercial street has a power outage... just my luck. The one time I actually make a trip there to buy poutine, cupcakes and CDs... there is a fucking power outage. Oh well, I DID manage to snag some nice CDs. Patti Smith CD (Gone Again). It has the most amazing little album booklet. It is beautiful to flip through it. Patti Smith is a fucking badass.
Snagged the Vs. Album by Pearl Jam for.... 3 fucking bucks. I am happy.
Finally got two Blur CDs Modern Life is Rubbish and The Great Escape (I am super happy) One of the covers where broken but my brother helped me fix it. So everything is ALL good.

All in all a good day. I feel like myself again. Venturing about on my own doing things I love.

So I did some youtubing only to find a sad lady that is trying to take advantage of the whole "modern day-retro glam" sound popularized by Adele. Shes trying to do Adele BUT she thinks she can hide her hideous dull voice by "uping" her looks. I am digging the fake lips and nose. Classic. The ONLY female artist that can pull of the monotone low voice perfectly is Fiona Apple.

A couple weeks back I decided to start a CD collection in hopes of one day starting an online CD trade site. (That's something to blog about in the future)

So I went to the vancouver flea market with my friend and wow! It was like a humungous garage sale. Lots of vintage shit. They have everything. I picked up 2 used cds. The Doors for 5 bucks and Sublime for 2 bucks!

Then I went on a fucking mission to find that stupid canon lens at Blacks Photography. Sold out. Everywhere. So I gave up and went to my ex-songwriting teacher's gig at Our Town Cafe. Katy Maccoll and Paolo Brian! It was nice seeing her again because this time I was a friend as oppose to a student. More open relationship there. It was a intimate little gig, very relaxing. Paolo Brian is really amazing live as well. Think of Elliot Smith doing some britpop, that is how I would describe it. I bought his CD Paolo Brian and the Steamclocks. There is some good stuff on there.

I met a freelance artist the other day and I couldn't help but feel sorry for myself as I admired the artist's determination and bravery for going through with his artist passions. It takes alot of courage to believe in your art. It is just a fucking difficult thing to believe that it will all pay off in the end. The best part of the trip

Was without a doubt this divine moment when I saw these two dogs play together on the beach. We stayed at Mui Wo for most of the time in Hong Kong. It is a nice secluded island that is full of culture and life. There are only a small town of people and a some British visitors here and there. That island is AMAZING! So there is this Shiba Inu/fox looking mutt that is always around the motel we stayed at and it is the most adorable thing. It never lets people pet him... I don't know why. It isn't at all vicious with people but it just doesn't like being petted. It'll move away shyly.

In Mui Wo, all the dogs and cats run free and leashless around the island. Even the owners let the dogs out at night to prowl around. It is normal to see dogs running around here and there looking busy.

On the last night we went back to the motel pretty late because we usually head out to the big city/downtown area in the day. It was pitch black but we still had to walk along the beach to get to the motel. That is when i saw the two dogs. One of which was the Shiba Inu fox and the other was a neighbor's dog who looked the same but lighter in colour. Then were running around the beach and chasing each other. They looked really happy. If dogs could look invincibly happy, that was it. They looked so carefree and undisturbed with their tongues hanging out and ears all perked up. It was a really serene scene... the ocean, the moon, the dogs. It was beautiful.

The minute I dug my key into the front door.. I realized that I left my tea in your car... FUUUUUUUU

BCIT Program Meet and Greet

BCIT has a unique program that engages students and the staff. Last week my program head John Dymond set up a program meet and greet for the International Business Management students. He invited thirteen industry professionals who all graduated from BCIT. Each of them sat in a round table and we were welcomed to sit and talk to them in groups. Everyone was dressed up in business suits and heels and we all had business cards to hand out which I thought was a good practice for meeting professionals in the real world. This meet and greet really emphasized on how well your social skills were and how well you networked. At the beginning, it was pretty awkward because I didn't have any questions prepared but after a couple minutes everyone clicked and the questions were more relaxed and genuine. I met some really cool people. One guy was a executive marketing director for the military. Who would of thought the military needed marketing? I sure didn't. But here is this guy who loves his job and makes a fuck tons doing it. Also, one guy is a senior project manager for a clothing company that distributes to Holt Renfrew, the Bay, and... West 49! It's crazy how diverse the occupations were! One lady who I completely clicked with was is this blonde poised looking business woman who looked like she walked off the set of Desperate Housewives was an executive manager for logistics, purchasing and contracts. She has traveled ALL over the world and makes an insane amount of money. The company she works for supplies steel for all parts of the world.
Meeting all these people really inspired me to fucking finish the program and just go out and take over the world.

Marketing is one of my favourite classes right now. I really like the professor, Kirsty Henderson. She used to work for Nintendo Canada not too long ago. She gives us really creative but realistic projects. In marketing, we get a new case project every two weeks focusing on the four Ps of marketing.

I've learned so much these past couple of months and I am having fun through it all. However, there is one problem... I don't want to be dealing with logistics and transport management. That is not what I want to do and it will suck the life out of me
Going to HR... like originally planned or business management then BBA at SFU
Good thing is... all my credits are transferable and so it is pain-free and hassle-free! I am all caught up with the other programs too so it is not like I have to learn and catch up to them.
I am really glad that I took International Business Management... even though I've found out that it is not for me... I've realized what I want and do not want. So this is a learning experience.
The only thing about transferring is... I'll miss my classmates and teammates... as juvenile as it sounds. It's like mini school all over again. I've built relationships with the 25 people in my set that I attend every class with every day.
I've already proven myself and made a name for myself.. and I don't want to do it again.

I really like school and I am happy I realized this now.

I am extremely satisfied with the education being offered here and I am appreciative that I go to this school. One of the best decisions I've made so far in life. I still remember the day when BCIT rejected my application for my first choice (Human Resources Management) and I ran out the library sobbing. I realized at that very moment that my life was screwed because I had to choose between UVIC, Langara, or Capilano. There was no way I was going to UVIC because I didn't have the money so that was out of the question. So that left Langara and Capilano... It was bad. General studies.... BLEH. But luckily, my BCIT admin officer called me back the next 2 days and told me that I was accepted into my second choice which was International Business Management. It really couldn't have worked out any better. I love the program I am in now so thank you Buddha.

The most clever and customer-friendly business out there.
1. They are probably the only website that sell ZOYAS in Canada
2. They have TOP-NOTCH customer service. And when I say top-notch... I fucking mean it. I am extremely picky about customer service. So this is what happened... I have to make an emergency billing and shipping name switch ASAP. So after 12 hours of putting in the order... I called them on Saturday at 10pm and left them a voicemail. (Company's never ever respond to customer voicemails.) Keep in mind that this is over the Thanksgiving long weekend. Within 12 hours, I got a phone call from a receptionist named Nicole on a SUNDAY.... SUNDAY!!!! And she changed everything for me! Made my life so much easier... because I don't have to keep sending them emails and leaving voicemails.
3. My order is in Richmond right now. It has only been one business day.
4. My shipping was free because it was over a reasonable amount of $29
